Quartzsite Historical Society email: qhs@rraz.net The Quartzsite Historical Society is a non-profit organization dedicated to the support and management of the Tyson’s Well Stage Station Museum. Our funding comes from fundraising events such as musical concerts staged for our benefit during the winter season, a quilt show, collecting aluminum cans, which proceeds help us with our summer utilities, a promotion of town stipend, from the Town of Quartzsite, and donations. We also reprinted 2 books: “ Quartzsite Arizona, no ordinary place” by Leland Feitz , “Quartzsite Pioneer Bill Keiser’s Lost Mines and Prospector’s Lore” adapted by Pauline Sandholt for the Yuma Historical Society and the Quartzsite Historical Society. The sale of these books contribute to our funds. All of these sources help us to maintain our collection, keep hours of operation in the winter and summer, and provide field trips for to local historic sites. Grant funding is a large part of our progress. The Arizona Historical Society has funded our digitization project to provide access to our collection in an electronic format, and to make available fragile photographs and documents to the viewing public. A grant from the Library Services and Technology Act has funded this web site, as noted below in partnership with the Quartzsite Public Library. Guidance from the state historical society and the state library have been invaluable in keeping the museum in step with its mission and function within the community. Donations remain the key to our success. Residents and
visitors alike have been generous in their support. For information how
