Mining for gold, lead and mercury have played an important part in the history of Quartzsite and to a lesser degree are still going on. The museum has a fine display of mining equipment. The Assay Office from the Mariquita Mine is now part of the museum and contains a display of assay and mining equipment from local mines. Larger mining equipment is displayed in outside exhibits. There is a black light display of many fluorescent minerals, common to the area. Come in and check out our digital slide show of our beautiful Desert blooms. Come in and check out the new mining exhibit! Now have a picture of the new mining exhibit in the picture section. ********************************************************************************************
